Cycle 3, Cutback Week
Did I use this same Bon Jovi meme for Week 9 last year? Probably. Will I use it again next year? Probably. Will it get old? Most definitely.
This is our first year with an Advanced 2 plan, which has has a few weeks where the weekend run is slightly more than Advanced 1. For those few groups providing that distance, please check with your runners on whether they plan on running 14 or 15 miles.
Notable Path Events
Dim Sum and Then Some 5k/10k - the race starts at 8:00 from Asia on Argyle, then runs east to the Lakefront Path. They are setting up a water stop near our gathering location. The water stop is at mile 1.5 (5k) and 4.5 (10k), so be aware of their runners as you bring our groups back to the Montrose location.
Lollapalooza - there might be some people wandering around downtown, still bleary eyed from the previous night’s shenanigans. Provide them with a wide berth and a cheery greeting.
Weather, Water Stops, & Turnarounds
🌥️ Mostly cloudy, 70°-75°F with humidity in the 80%s; rain should hold off until after we’re finished.
🚰 Waveland, Diversey, North Ave, Monroe, and Montrose
🏃Novice: 10 miles (a little past the North Ave. water stop)
🏃Intermediate: 13 (fountain just after the Chicago River bridge)
🏃Advanced: 14 or 15 (±Monroe water stop)
Other Items
Ready2Run Registration is open. There’s no charge for group leaders or training program participants, but you do need to register. Check your email for information. There are separate forms for GLs and for participants, so please make sure you use the correct one.
RushPT continues to be on-site; please remind runners that Katie is available for questions and evals as part of CARA’s partnership with them.
And that’s all I have for this week. See you, tomorrow!
