CARA Montrose 6am - Week 4
Hazy Air, Thunderstorms, and NASCAR
Switching to Substack
You may notice that this email is a little spiffier this week. Instead of trying to manage the newsletter out of my inbox, I’m giving Substack a try. I appreciate any feedback you may have on how I can improve these weekly updates.
Hazy Air & Thunderstorms
With the wildfire smoke this week, rainstorms tomorrow, and this being a mileage building week, we could be in for a tough long run.
Keep an eye on the CARAruns Weather Alerts feed on the birdsite for the latest on cancellations. I will also send out an email if I get a text or call that we have cancelled.
Notable Path Events
NASCAR closures - none of our groups go far enough south to be affected by the potential mayhem downtown. Jean Baptiste Pointe du Sable Lake Shore Drive will be closed around Grant Park, so add extra time if you need are coming from the south.
Weather, Water Stops, & Turnarounds
⛈️Raining (possible thunderstorms), 68°F, minimal breeze, AQI of moderate/unhealthy
🚰 Waveland, Diversey, North Ave, and Montrose
🏃Novice: 9 miles (North Ave. 🚢), Intermediate: 11 (Chicago Ave.), Advanced: 13 (Chicago River bridge🌉)
Other Items
RushPT continues to be on-site; please remind runners that Erin is available for questions and evals as part of CARA’s partnership with them.
And that’s all I have for this week. See you, tomorrow!
