Cycle 5, The Longest Saturday
This is the longest Saturday on the calendar for everyone - lots of miles, lots of heat, lots of fun!
The weather will start off cool, but rapid rising. It is okay to make some extra stops, especially on the way back. The water fountain just south of the Chicago river bridge and the quad-water fountain by Oak St. Beach are both good pausing points, especially for smaller groups.
Volunteers needed for Ready2Run - if you aren’t running R2R because you are injured or your marathon is a different weekend from Chicago, please consider volunteering for R2R. Contact Tim Bradley (tim@cararuns.org) with any questions. We’re struggling to find people to help out with the water tables, so every extra hand is greatly appreciated.
Notable Path Events
AVP Bally’s Chicago Open - the Oak Street beach area is going to be taken over by the annual beach volleyball tournament. All that staging and construction they have been doing over the last two weeks culminates in three days of games. The first game takes place at 8:30am, which means our return trip will be going right through their opening hours.
Weather, Water Stops, & Turnarounds

Ready2Run Course Announced - the path for this year’s R2R has been released. We’re doing the normal Wilson Track start, heading north to Foster, down to the Fullerton loop, then heading all the way south along the path. No need to cut over west of LSD this year!
