Cycle 4, Build Week 2
Tomorrow morning, we will have special guest visitors Carey Pinkowski (Chicago Marathon Executive Director) and Galen Rupp (Olympic medalist in the 10,000m and the marathon). They will have a few inspirational words for us as we take on our next few weeks of peak mileage.
Watermelon, Beer, and Other Fizzy Drinks will be available to everyone after the run tomorrow, compliments of CARA. Jacob (6:30am Site Coordinator) is doing the grocery shopping and watermelon slicing this year, so please give him a quick thanks if you see him.
Notable Path Events
Air & Water Show - as always, they take over the lakefront path and make a mess of things. As such the North Ave. water stop will be before the pedestrian bridge this week. Taking the normal route, you won’t miss it - but be aware that the distance between that water stop and Monroe Harbor will be a little longer. Consider stopping at the Oak Street Beach water fountain (being aware of cyclists and other people).
Stan’s Donut 10k, 5k, & Kids Dash - races start at 7:00am with a loop around Soldier Field and then an out and back heading south. There is going to be a lot of foot traffic for this. They have over 2,000 participants. Defer the right of way to them, since it is a formal event, and pass appropriately.

🏃Advanced: 20 (McCormick Place Bird Sanctuary)
Other Items
Ready2Run Registration is open. There’s no charge for group leaders or training program participants, but you do need to register. Check your email for information. There are separate forms for GLs and for participants, so please make sure you use the correct one.
RushPT continues to be on-site; please remind runners that Lexi is available for questions and evals as part of CARA’s partnership with them.
