Switching to Substack
You may notice that this email is a little spiffier this week. Instead of trying to manage the newsletter out of my inbox, I’m giving Substack a try. I appreciate any feedback you may have on how I can improve these weekly updates.
First Cutback Week!
Just as we’re getting into the groove of things, we’ll take a small step back this week. It is the least number of miles most runners will have all season. Please remind them to respect the cutback - they’ll appreciate doing so later in the season.
Notable Path Events
Normally, this would be the Proud to Run weekend - and whatever parking restrictions are associated with it. However, it appears that the event is not happening this year.
ABC7 Gibbons Run for Leukemia Research will be setting up at the Montrose clearing. The 5k/3k event starts at 9:30am, so there’s no risk of us colliding with their runners.
GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge will be setting up outside Lincoln Park Zoo. That event also starts long after we are finished.
Weather, Water Stops, & Turnarounds
☀️Sunny, 64°F (with temps rising), high humidity, minimal breeze, AQI of moderate/unhealthy
🚰 Waveland, Diversey, North Ave, and Montrose
🏃Novice: 5 miles (Barry underpass), Intermediate: 7 (Fullerton), Advanced: 9 (North Ave.🚢)
Other Items
RushPT continues to be on-site; please remind runners that Erin is available for questions and evals as part of CARA’s partnership with them.
And that’s all I have for this week. See you, tomorrow!
